The show

What is the show about? Blue Planet III Live in Concert is a UK and European arena tour taking place in May - June 2027 that brings key moments from the Autumn 2026 BBC Blue Planet III television series to life in a large-scale live show with selected footage shown on a giant LED screen and Hans Zimmer, Thom Lukas & Laurentia Editha from Bleeding Finger’s new score performed by a live orchestra.

The live concert event is built around specially selected sequences shown on a 200 square metre Ultra HD LED screen.

The brand-new score for Blue Planet III will be performed live in sync with specially selected footage from the TV series by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concerts will be hosted on stage by series Executive Producer, Elizabeth White, who will share behind-the-scenes stories, challenges and discoveries from making the show.

The concert follows previous critically acclaimed BBC Earth live concerts (Blue Planet II, Planet Earth II and III).
Who composed the music? Hans Zimmer, Thom Lukas and Laurentia Editha composed the score for Bleeding Fingers Music.
Who is the orchestra performing at Blue Planet III Live in Concert? The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, a classical orchestra, will perform live at all venues.

The history of the orchestra goes back to the Film Symphony Orchestra (FISYO), which was founded shortly after World War II, in 1947 as the in-house orchestra for the huge Barrandov Film Studios. After separating and fully privatised it initially performed under the name Czech Symphony Orchestra but had problems with unauthorized use of the name by other Czech ensembles for themselves. Finally in 1992, after the Velvet Revolution, music producer James Fitzpatrick came up with its current name.

The orchestra is drawn from musicians of the State Opera and the Czech National Theatre, and most of its concerts take place at the opera house.
How long does the show last? Blue Planet III Live in Concert’s show run time is approximately 100 minutes, plus a 20 minute interval.

Getting there

How do I get to the arena? The AO Arena is located in the heart of Manchester of city centre, conveniently serviced by all forms of public transport, which we recommend as the best and most sustainable way to travel to an event.
You can find the arena within the Victoria Station complex with train and Metrolink tram services operating from Greater Manchester and beyond.
Arriving by Car: If you must travel by car, the AO Arena is located within the Victoria Station complex in the city centre, on the corner of Trinity Way, Hunts Bank and Great Ducie Street. The postcode is M3 1AR.
Parking:
  • Official parking partners CitiPark operate the on-site car park and has a capacity of 958 spaces, including accessible bays which can be pre-booked by visiting their website.
  • On show nights, the car park is manned by an events team who work to ensure that parking at the venue is as simple and easy as possible. They conduct regular patrols of the car park and the car park also has the Park Mark award for safety.
  • After the concert, Trinity Way will be closed southbound between Great Ducie Street and Cheetham Hill Road for up to one hour. This is to allow concert-goers to safely exit the venue.
  • However, if you’re parking at the official CitiPark car park, you will still be allowed to exit during this closure but you will have to turn right and follow local diversions.

We advise anyone with mobility issues to arrive as early as possible and prebook with CitiPark.
